Window International Network introduces Praying Through The Window 9: Global Terrorism and World Religions in the 10/40 Window, a worldwide prayer initiative.

We are defining terrorism as unlawful use of force or violence against non-combatants. This demonically orchestrated violence is destabilizing the 10/40 Window countries as well as countries in the West. Every non-Christian world religion—Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism—is headquartered in the 10/40 Window nations.

It is interesting to note that four out of the five countries in the world that actively sponsor terrorist activities are also countries that rank high on the list of persecution of Christians. These four countries - Syria, Iran, North Korea and Sudan - are all located in the 10/40 Window.

When the Saudi Arabian Government invited the United States of America’s military to defend Saudi Arabia against the aggressive attacks of the late Saddam Hussein in 1990, Islamic extremists were enraged. This request for protection was perceived as desecration of the Islamic holy land by the Bin Ladens and al-Zawahris of the world, and  as an act of war defined as dar al barb (House of War) against dar al Islam (House of Islam). Osama Bin Laden along with Ayman al-Zawahri and two other radical Islamists issued a fatwa (a formal interpretive ruling on Islamic law), calling for a jihad (holy war) and encouraged Muslims to kill Westerners, Christians and Jews wherever they found them.

Terrorism and radical world religions are driven by demonic forces. Therefore, we must deal with these spiritual issues in prayer. We must petition the Lord to tear down these spiritual strongholds that are holding precious people in bondage and leading them to a Christless eternity. We must intercede on their behalf before the Father to snatch as many as possible out of the grip of satan and his demonic forces.

It is our duty as Christians to pray fervently and regularly for the lost.  We must petition God on behalf of Christians who are terrorized by radical Hindus in India, the genocide of defenseless Muslims in the Darfur region of western Sudan by government sanctioned janjaweed (militia armed with a gun and horse), senseless killings and harassment of Christians in Sri Lanka by the Tamil Tigers, or random acts of aggressive terrorism. The 10/40 Window countries need our prayers.

We must stand up for justice. Will you join Christians around the world as we pray fervently, knowledgeably and faithfully for those who are being terrorized in the 10/40 Window nations? Would you also join us in praying for those who are entrenched in the world religions? They have been deceived into believing that their religious acts will save them. There is only one way to God the Father and that is through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Let’s stand in the gap and PRAY for those who don’t know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
