Who are you fighting to?

“For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places].” Ephesians 6:12

A few years ago I had the chance to watch a bullfight in Spain, and at that time I could clearly understand how the Devil works among us.

What seems to be only a fight between the bull and the fighter, actually the bullfight is not just it. First, the bull is confined for many days before the fight, it is kept in a dark and lonely place, so it gets really angry to attack anything or anyone that is in its way.

When the bull is taken out of the “prision”, it finds a knight over his horse, wearing a protector close, which the bull can not destroy, even fighting with all its strength.

While the bull is making everything it’s possible to destroy that enemy, the bull is shot by a long spear that drills its loins which start bleeding. When the bull is weak, very exhausted, the bullfighter comes on the arena, holding a beautiful cloak.

So, one more time, the bull starts fighting again, now against the fighter with his weapon, the “cloak”. The bullfighter places his cloak and shaking it, so the bull can see it, and all the strength that lasts to the bull is spent with nothing. And when the bull bleeding so much that it is almost falling down, and it is tired of chasing a wasted target, the bull is threatened by a hidden weapon that the fighter had in his hand, and the fighter places his sword in the back of the bull, sticking straight in its heart. The bull, a warrior, falls over its feet, dead.

That’s is how many Christians have been living. They are placing their strength against a fake enemy, designed by the Devil to exhaust their strength till it ends.

And once they are exhausted, they became easy targets for the evil enemy. So, let’s not be as a bull, that despites its strength, it doesn’t understand who or what to fight against actually.

Have a clearly understanding of your life, and be more than just a winner!
